Isabella Buckman

Isabella Buckman was raised in Eureka, California where she began her classical ballet training at the age of six at North Coast Dance. She spent summers training with Boston Ballet, American Ballet Theater, The Rock School, and State Street Ballet. In 2024, Isabella graduated cum laude from Butler University with a BFA in Dance Performance and a minor in Environmental Studies. In her time at Butler, she had the opportunity to perform in classical works, including The Nutcracker, Giselle, Swan Lake, and Cinderella as well as original contemporary works by Derek Reid, Susan McGuire, Cynthia Pratt, and David Ingram. Furthermore, she also had the opportunity to work with Deborah Wingert of the George Balanchine Trust in Serenade.

After graduation, Isabella moved to Maine to join Portland Ballet. Isabella’s performance credits with Portland Ballet include Russian Caviar in A Victorian Nutcracker and Fairy of the Golden Vine in The Sleeping Beauty. Isabella is excited to return as an Apprentice for her second season with Portland Ballet!
