Milena Hartog

Milena Hartog was born in New York City, and moved to the Netherlands at age five. In Amsterdam, she studied at the Dutch National Ballet Academy and had the opportunity to perform works by Van Manen, Petipa, Balanchine, Van Schayk, and Naharin, among others. In addition, she danced in various productions with the affiliated HET Nationale Ballet.

Milena performed with State Street Ballet in Santa Barbara, CA and has danced various soloist roles for Princeton Youth Ballet productions in Princeton, NJ. She performed the lead role of the Sugar Plum Fairy in Pennsylvania, and has performed in, and choreographed numerous contemporary works across the country. In 2017, Milena moved to Maine. In addition to dancing with the company, she serves as Assistant to Portland Ballet’s Director, Nell Shipman.
