Portland School of Ballet
Portland School of Ballet offers many choices for students with differing levels of commitments. We have ballet classes for children and adults, beginner to advanced, recreational to professional. PSB offers small classes and individual attention. All of our classes are taught by adults with extensive teaching and performing experience.

As a small school, parents and students enjoy the feeling of camaraderie that exists at PSB. An open door policy and easy access to teachers and directors make PSB a place where the whole person is nurtured and developed. We invite you to join our family.

“I always love coming to teach the young ladies of the Portland Ballet. They are trained beautifully and love what they are doing. A very important combination.”
Arthur Leeth, Boston Ballet

“I am consistently impressed by the detailed training coming from PSB and am delighted when they excel in our programs.”
Tim Melady, Ballet Master, Nutmeg Conservatory

“Portland Ballet School provides a nurturing and challenging environment for students to discover the discipline and beauty of dance. Genie O'Brien, Portland Ballet's Founder and Director's commitment to offering young and upcoming dancers the most comprehensive education in the dance possible, is truly inspiring. Her C.O.R.P.S. program has produced dancers who have gone on to both prestigious summer programs around the country, Dance Departments in sought after Universities, as well as professional companies.”
Catherine Batcheller; Academy Dean of Cincinnati Ballet's Otto M. Budig Academy

PSB students are regularly accepted to the most prestigious summer programs, such as American Ballet Theatre, Boston Ballet, San Francisco Ballet, National School of Canada, Walnut Hill School for the Arts, Joffrey Ballet, and Magnus Ballet. Many summer programs choose to hold auditions at PSB, recognizing the caliber of training at our school.

PSB students have received scholarships to colleges with strong dance programs, including University of the Arts, Boston Conservatory, Point Park, Goucher, and U of Cincinnati. Our students have gone on to dance professionally at companies such as Dance Theater of Harlem, Pacific Northwest Ballet, Nevada Ballet, American Repertory Ballet, and Oregon Ballet Theater.
