Dr. Heinz teaching an Anatomy seminar
The health and well being of both our student and professional dancers is of utmost importance at Portland Ballet. We focus on creating strong dancers, injury prevention, and proper nutrition. Our health team gives regular presentations on these subjects, and all students and company members have access to a strong medical team to address any injury issue that may arise. All students who are candidates to go on point are evaluated by Dr. William Heinz and physical therapist Michael Mullin to ensure that they are physically ready for the rigors of pointe work. Our dedicated team of medical professionals includes:

William Heinz, MD: pointe and injury screening
Private Family Practice
James Kirsh, DO: injury screening
Michael Mullin, ATC: Physical Therapy
Eliza Lussier, MSPT: Physical Therapy
Wayne Lamarre, MEd, ATC, LAT: Athletic Trainer
Kay Mullin, RD, LD, CDE: Nutrition
