Your gift of $10,000+ will help us do what Portland Ballet Company does best - present exciting original choreography. Once a new ballet is in repertory, the beauty of the composition keeps on giving, as the work is presented in rotating performance seasons. Enable our visionary choreographers to bring their vision to life, give our dancers the excitement and honor of having new work set on them, and let Maine audiences revel in the incredible talents of Maine artists.
The Lynn Moran Scholarship Fund
Lynn Moran was a student of Portland School of Ballet and died in the summer of 2005 at the age of 24. She approached dance - like so many aspects of her life - with passion, respect and commitment. Lynn's family and friends established a scholarship to honor Lynn's memory and celebrate her dedication to ballet, commitment to the community, and concern and respect for others. Your donation to this fund means that talented student dancers can continue their dance training at PSB, where athleticism, artistry, and discipline are fostered in a professional environment. The Lynn Moran Scholarship is awarded each spring, and donations to this important fund are accepted year round.
The Portland Ballet General Fund
Portland Ballet is a debt free 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation, yet runs on a tight budget, and relies on the generosity of its patrons to keep ballet thriving in Maine. Your donation to the General Fund will let us take advantage of special opportunities and protect us when unexpected expenses come up. But most importantly, your gift will support dancer and instructor salaries, ensure the longevity of our educational outreach programs, and ensure that our teachers and dancers are properly compensated for the level of professionalism that they bring to dance in Maine.
