Portland Ballet: Portland Public Library Window Show at First Friday Arts Walk

Portland Ballet will be presenting works from both the pre-professional CORPS program and the professional company of dancers in the Portland Public Library Window as part of the May First Friday Art Walk.

Portland School of Ballet's pre-professional CORPS Program will be presenting a piece titled, The Barre, that has been presented in schools around Portland area. The Barre, choreographed by CORPS Director Roberto Forleo, is a piece that showcases the work that each dancer does during their daily routine to warm up and prepare for rehearsals and performances.

Portland Ballet will be presenting an excerpt of their upcoming Spring Production of The Armed Man: A Mass for Peace.  This timely contemporary work choreographed by Artistic Director Nell Shipman, premiered in 2013 and showcases the power of the dancers while telling the story of individuals affected by conflict.

The performance will run around 20 minutes and will begin at sundown.
